Real Talk from the Mamas on Our Team

This Mother’s Day, we're turning the spotlight inward — on the amazing women in our own team who are navigating life, work, and motherhood in their own unique ways.

We asked a few of the mamas in our team to reflect on what motherhood means to them, how they find moments of balance (or don’t), and the small things that help keep them grounded. Their answers are honest, warm, and real — just like motherhood itself.

Here’s what they shared:

“Self-care is tiny, intentional moments.” – Sacha

“For me, self-care isn’t grand or consistent. It’s a walk, a quiet tea, a few pages of a book, a burst of creativity, a quick Pilates class. Those small moments are what I protect — they keep me grounded.”

“Motherhood has taught me to see movement and wellness as essential. Not for perfection, but for strength, energy, and as an example to my kids. I’ve learned to be flexible, realistic, and kind to myself.”

“You can do anything — just not everything.” – Jen

“To me, motherhood means expanding, exploring, and sitting in the messiness of it all — and still loving every minute. Some days we just muddle through. Kids come first, but I think it’s really important to carve out space for ourselves each day too.”

“For me, it’s early morning walks alone, no screens an hour before bed, and a book in bed when I can get it. A Pilates class on my own is a treat. Dedicated time with my kids every day keeps me grounded — just us.”

“What’s surprised me most? How much fun it is.”

“And I hope my kids learn that it’s okay to put your needs first sometimes, that exercise matters, and that doing work you love is a real gift.”

“Doing it all looks different now —
and that’s okay.”
– Vicky

You absolutely can do it all — just know that what “all” means might change. Life after becoming a mum often reshuffles your priorities. What filled your days before may not be what fills them now — and that’s to be expected.

The important thing is to ask yourself: What does your new ‘all’ look like? What do you need — and what does your family need — to not just get through the day, but feel fulfilled? Once you know that, you can start to piece it all together. It takes compromise, and some days will be overwhelming, but when you’re making space for what truly matters, it all feels more meaningful.

And one last thing: write “Be a great mum” at the top of your to-do list every day — and tick it off. It helps keep things in perspective, especially when everything else feels like a lot.

“To me, motherhood is both losing and finding yourself again.” – Molly

“Nothing truly prepares you for how much motherhood changes you — the way you let go of who you were and slowly discover new parts of yourself through your child. It’s the deepest kind of love. Pure, powerful, immeasurable.”

“As for balance between mum-life and work-life… I’m still figuring it out. I try not to obsess over the split. If my son knows he’s my number one, then that’s what counts.”

“One thing that’s kept me grounded is NSDR — a style of meditation I started when my son was taking 20-minute contact naps. I still use it now.”

“Women are strong — the soft and the fierce can
live side by side.”
– Laura B

“I want my children to see that women are strong — that we can lead, nurture, and show up fully in every part of our lives. We can be the big squeeze and the soft landing. We can get the job done at work and come home with open arms. That’s what being a mum — and a woman — is all about.”

“Motherhood has taught me how to play again. Life becomes lighter, more joyful, and full of magic through your children. Yes, the early days are hard — especially the sleep deprivation! But even in the hard, there’s so much wonder.”

“Above all, I want every woman in our community to know this: your story matters. Whether you’re in the thick of newborn life, going through IVF, navigating solo parenting, raising teens, trying to conceive, or rediscovering yourself in between — your version of motherhood is valid. No two journeys are the same, and we’re here to hold space for every one of them. We see you, and we honour you.”

To the mothers in our team, our community, and all around us — we see the late nights, the early mornings, the quiet strength, and the loud laughter.

YOU ARE INCREDIBLE. YOU ARE MAGIC.
